In Remembrance of Joe Brown

Austin Hardwoods lost one of its founding fathers this weekend. On the morning of November 20, 2016, Joe Brown passed away after a short but valiant battle with cancer. After 35 years in the company, Joe had become somewhat of an icon. His sharp wit and high standards made working with him a pleasure and an honor. He expected more of himself than anyone else, and that made those around him aspire to do more and to challenge themselves. At home, he was a loving father, husband and brother—a man to be respected and admired. With the holiday season upon us, I want to reflect on some of the things that Joe taught us. Building something from nothing is hard, but it is so worth it. This season, celebrate your health and take time to show appreciation for your loved ones. Joe, you will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
